Digitised Manuscripts to Europeana (DM2E) is a European Commission funded project with two primary aims:
One of Net7 mission is to promote research and disseminate
knowledge by making available for free online digital reproductions
of materials in the humanities.
Since 2001 Net7 is involved in many European projects as a technical partner expert in digital humanities.
SemLib is a 24th month R&D project supported by EU FP7 Theme: Research for SMEs (no. FP7-SME-2010-01-262301-SEMLIB) commenced in January 2011. SemLib will produce three components that will be integrated into the SME products: a Tool to export existing metadata in RDF and publish it as Linked Data (Web of Data); a Semantic Annotation System, to exploit user-generated RDF metadata and publish it as Linked Data; a Semantic Recommender System, to use Linked Data to improve searching and browsing in the DLs.
SeMedia group, A3Labs, Università Politecnica delle Marche, Ancona, Italy is a multidisciplinary research group at the Faculty of Engineering, Università Politecnica delle Marche, located in Ancona, Italy, which main area of research and development revolves around application of Semantic Web technologies and multimedia semantics. Since 2004, the research and software development activities at SeMedia group are mainly focused on enabling novel possibilities in knowledge creation, management and intelligent use of structured knowledge in distributed, networked environments. In Semlib, Semedia has bee responsible for the of the annotation system, namely Pundit.
Liberologico, Italy, is a system integrator with a specific know how in web and mobile applications. Knowledge Hives, Poland, is a Web 3.0 Startup (SME) with core competence in providing semantic recommendation engines for both knowledge bases and e-commerce. Founded in 2009, Knowledge Hives are based on a long-term cooperation of the co- founders: a group of experienced researchers, consultants and managers previously affiliated with the Technical University of Gda!sk and Digital Enterprise Research Institute at National University of Ireland, Galway (also a partner of SemLib).
National University of Ireland Galway (NUIG) - Digital Enterprise Research Institute (DERI, Ireland) is one of the main actors in research and development of semantic technologies in the world. DERI performs research in the Semantic Web, social networks, sensor network platforms, and semantic web services and applies its research results to solve integration problems in various application-oriented projects in eLearning, eGovernment, eBusiness, and eHealth. DERI develops advanced Semantic Web infrastructures, such as Semantically Interlinked Online Communities (SIOC), distributed social semantic desktops (NEPOMUK), semantic search engines (SWSE, Sindice), and platforms for running large-scale, data-intensive experiments, which facilitate collaborative social working environments, scalable storage and reasoning engines, distributed computing, and ontology development.
